SCORM, the Shareable Content Object
Reference Model, is a technical specification that governs how e-learning is created
and delivered to learners. Basically, it makes e-learning development "plug and play". SCORM was created and is governed by a US Department of Defense organization, the Advanced Distributed Learning(ADL). One of the major advantages of SCORM is its recognition and significant adoption, particularly by the entire US military and international industry as an e-Learning standard.
To date, there are three released versions of SCORM, each building on top of the
prior one. |
